A luxury watch film, from one packshot

Unofficial concept · not affiliated with Rolex

The plan behind our Submariner concept film: one packshot, seven shots from the dial to the hero, the prompt for each, and the rule that keeps the details still. An unofficial concept, not affiliated with Rolex.

like this
01

One clean photo

Phone is fine: daylight from a window, a plain wall or sheet behind, the label facing the camera and sharp. No flash.

02

An image AI and a video AI

Gemini or ChatGPT for the stills, then an image-to-video model such as Kling for the clips. Upload the photo, paste the prompt.

03

Paste, generate, check

One prompt per image. Before you use one, check the label against your real product, letter by letter.

THE INPUT

One packshot. That’s all.

A clean front view of the watch on a plain warm grey background: black dial, ceramic bezel, steel bracelet, even light. Every shot on the board started from this one photo.

Step 1 The board

Seven shots, one rule.

Go close first, then pull back: dial, bezel, bracelet, profile, the spotlight, the hero. Each shot is the packshot plus one short line about light or movement.

Extreme macro. A thin streak of light sweeps the crystal; the seconds hand ticks.

Macro along the engraved bezel, a rim light gliding over the numerals.

07 / HEROHero

Straight on, centred on black, every detail sharp.

08 / THE RULE Realistic motion. Keep the dial, markers and bezel identical. No morphing.

Add it to every clip. Luxury goods are judged on the details, and video models love to redraw them.

Small text is where it breaks. At phone size the dial looks right. Zoom in and the small lines under the name are nonsense letters: AI draws text as shapes. For a real watch, keep the real dial text from your own photo, or keep those lines too small to read.

The whole board, as the reel shows it
01 / SOURCE: One packshot of the watch: black dial, ceramic bezel, Oyster bracelet.
02 / DIAL: Extreme macro. A thin streak of light sweeps the crystal; the seconds hand ticks.
03 / BEZEL: Macro along the engraved bezel, a rim light gliding over the numerals.
04 / BRACELET: Slow slide along brushed and polished links.
05 / PROFILE: Side view on glossy black, the reflection shifting beneath it.
06 / SHOWROOM: Floating under a single spotlight, haze in the beam.
07 / HERO: Straight on, centred on black, every detail sharp.
08 / RULE: Realistic motion. Keep the dial, markers and bezel identical. No morphing.
STEP 2

Animate slowly.

Image-to-video, a few seconds, the still as the first frame

[one slow movement: light sweeping the crystal, or the camera sliding along the bracelet]. On black, one light source. Realistic motion. Keep the dial, markers and bezel identical. No morphing, no text, no music.

Luxury reads slow: one movement per clip, black around the product, one light. Fast cuts and spinning cameras make an expensive watch look cheap.

STEP 3

Cut it to the details.

Hold each shot about a second and a half, macro first, and end on the hero straight on. Video models drift late in a clip, so keep the clean opening seconds and cut before the dial starts to change.

! Where DIY stops

This gets you most of the way.

The last part is where most sets fall apart. It’s the part we do, from $199.

  • Where it breaksWhat we do
  • The label drifts. A letter changes, the logo moves, the colour shifts. We check every image against your real product, word for word.
  • Hands and faces go wrong. An extra finger, or a face that changes from shot to shot.We count, crop and redo before you see anything.
  • The set doesn’t match. Light, colour and the model wander from image to image. One art direction across the whole set, so it reads as one campaign.
  • Video drifts. Clips morph after a few seconds. We plan the shots, keep the clean seconds and cut it on the beat.
